ABOUT THIS PROGRAM:
Monster Madness is a 1 month, co-ed, outdoor, evening league with all games played at the MENDHAM BORO COURTS.
The board members of Mendham Basketball are working with the Mendham Boro Parks commission to create and manage this league so that our kids can get out and play!
DOES THIS REPLACE THE REGULAR WINTER BASKETBALL SEASON?:
Definitely NOT! MONSTER MADNESS is an additional opportunity for the kids to play ball. Anyone who still wants to play rec or travel would still need to register for that program.
You can still register for the regular winter season (Rec and Travel) by visiting our website at www.MENDHAMBASKETBALL.com and scrolling down.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Fees for Monster Madness are $65 per player. This includes ref fees, pinnies and administrative fees for the program. (see below for refund notes).
Please note that this cost is just for the October Evening program and is entirely separate from regular winter registration.
HOW MANY GAMES WILL THE KIDS PLAY?
Not sure. Ultimately, it depends on how many people register. We are aiming for 1-2 games per week for each team, plus an all-team tournament in the final week of the program.
WHO CAN PLAY?
Monster Madness is open to ALL boys and girls in Mendham, grades 5-8. We are doing our best to create a girls only division and a boys only division.
While we will have adult supervision at the courts, players will be expected to self-coach their own teams. Player rotations and substitions will follow league guidelines to ensure a fair distribution of playing time.
Want to help? We will need some parent volunteers to help manage the scoreboard and clock during the games, please help us (and the kids) by checking that box during registration.
HOW ARE TEAMS FORMED?
Members of the board will work with Boys and Girls Rec/Travel coaches to ensure that teams are as balanced as possible. As with regular season rec team formations, we regret that we cannot accomodate team or pairing requests.
Depending on regisration numbers and schedule availability, teams may be either individual grades, or combined grades of 5th/6th and 7th/8th.
We reserve the right to move players from one team to another during the season in order to ensure that teams are balanced and competitive.
WHEN WILL GAMES BE?
Generally, games will be played on weeknights at the Mendham Boro Park outdoor courts. Games will be played between 5:30 and 9:00 (2 or 3 games slots per night).
We will do our best to manage conflicts with other fall sports, but cannot guarantee 100% alignment. If your fall sports schedule does not permit you to attend any games, we will refund your registration fees (see below).
WHAT IF I WANT A REFUND?
Parents can "unregister" their player, and request a refund at any time. All refund requests will be granted, minus a $5 charge to cover bank transaction fees.
